DURRELL WATKINS FROM SUNSHINE CATHEDRAL, THE WORLD’S LARGEST QUEER CHURCH. TOWN VIEW MADE NATIONAL NEWS THIS WEEK AS CONRAD AND TOWNE VIEW DECIDED TO WELCOME A GAY COUPLE AND THEIR ADOPTED CHILDREN TO THEIR CHURCH SERVICES.  SOME MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION LEFT THE CHURCH OVER THE CHURCH.  AFTER THREATS FROM THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION, THE LARGEST PROTESTANT RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION IN AMERICA, TOWNE VIEW HELD FIRM.  SBC HAS NOW REMOVED THE CHURCH AS A MEMBER OF THE CONVENTION. THE STORY OF TOWN VIEW AND THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION IS CRITICAL TO THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY. THE BATTLE GROUND WILL BALANCE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM VS LGBTQ CIVIL RIGHTS. MUST ONE EXCLUDE THE OTHER? THERE IS A BATTLE COMING OVER THE PASSAGE OF THE EQUALITY ACT, THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATIONS ENFORCEMENT OF NON DISCRIMINATION POLICIES AND THIS ENDING IN THE SUPREME COURT. REV DR DURRELL WATKINS SPOKE TO THE BALANCE OF EQUALITY AND RELIGIOUS REJECTION JUST THIS WEEK AT SUNSHINE CATHEDRAL.
