The Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce Brings Their Young Professional Network Program Back On April 15 From 6 – 7 pm.  A Social Happy Hour Follows The Workshop. The In Person Event Will Take Place At SKN Elements And Will Follow Covid-19 Safety Protocols. The Event Focuses On “Elevating Your Career In 2021” And Is Co Sponsored By PNC Bank.  Featured Presentation Is From Mike Lasley, Director Of Recruitment & Career Coach At NorthWestern Mutual. The Program Will Offer Tactical Advice That Will Help You, Make A Stand Out Impression, Teach Resume Dos And Don’ts, Optimize Your Social Media, Interview Tips And Recommendations On Networking. South Florida’s Gay8 Festival Comes Back This Week.  And That Means Signs Of Life For Our Entire LGBTQ Community.  A Long Awaited In Person Happy Hour Gathering Happens This Week To Celebrate The Festivals Return…. Being Held April 8 From 7 To 10:30 pm Called The Despojo Social Featuring DJ Zehno.  The Drink & Tapas Menu Will Be Held At The Cubaocho Museum And Performing Arts Center In Miami.  The Event Has So Much Symbolism For The South Florida Community As Vaccines Are Speeding The LGBTQ Community’s Ability To Come Out Of Pandemic And Some Forms Of Our New Covid-19 Normalcy.

Since Her Time At GLAAD In The 1990’s, She Has Executed Her Particular Expertise In Crisis And Strategic Communications, Playing A Central Role In Shaping Nearly All Major Issues Affecting The LGBTQ Community. From The Beating Death Of Matthew Shepard In 1998 To The Fight For Marriage Equality And The Repeal Of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”. She Fought For Us. She Most Recently Worked With The Team That Coordinated Historic Coverage For Worldpride/Stonewall 50, Working With NYC Pride. In Her Near 30 Years Of Media Relations And Activism Experience, She Has Garnered Placements In Every Major Media Outlet In The U.S. And Internationally, And Continues To Be A Sought After Spokesperson For LGBTQ+ Issues. World AIDS Museum Hosting Opening Benefit For “Through The White Door” Exhibit By Smiley Pool

The World AIDS Museum and Educational Center will present Through the White Door, a documentary photo project by photojournalist Smiley Pool that portrays the interconnected human experience of families affected by HIV/AIDS, at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale (2414 East Sunrise Blvd.) from April 8 – 30. The exhibition, consisting of 40 poignant images from South Africa, Romania, North Carolina, Texas and beyond, depicts the life struggles and triumphs of children and families affected by HIV/AIDS captured by Pool from his inspirational book of the same name. An opening reception with Pool will be held on Wednesday, April 7, at 5:30 p.m., to benefit the Worlds AIDS Museum and Educational Center. Tickets for the benefit are $25 each and are available

Her Passion For Nature Is Her Connection To Birds In The Backyard Of Her House In Honduras After Her Father Passed Away. Now, She Birdwatches & Occasionally Guides Tours Here In Miami. She Loves Opening Up Spaces That Are Accessible To All Who Wish To Birdwatch. She Writes Poetry From The Endless Inspiration That Nature Provides, And In Every Instance That She Finds Herself In Nature, There Is An Immediate Connection To The Earth Which Has Allowed Her To Feel Relief And Let Go Through Her Writing.
